WAMAS has worked with employers to help employees achieve qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy. Employers have provided their employees with the resources to improve their skills at work, without having to attend a college. The tutors have carried out the training and assessment in the workplace, often at the end of the working day.
The employees are given a computer-based initial assessment that identifies the areas in which the employee may require further assistance. That assistance is provided on a one to one basis and the employee works through exercises to practice their new skills. When they feel able, employees can choose to take an examination if they wish.
